Wind Turbines at Airway Boulevard, El Paso, Texas

This project in El Paso consists of the renovation of Airway Boulevard at IH-10. This includes the implementation of renewable energy with the placement and design of 18 wind turbines located at the four quadrants of this intersection. These turbines will partially power the new aesthetic lighting in this area. Landscape planters with hardscape and landscape are being implemented along the frontage roads. Ornamental steel sculptures are being placed at all four quadrants of the intersection giving a vertical presence to the region.

AIA provided structural design for planter walls, foundations for the wind turbines, foundations and details for the art pieces, and weathering steel casings. We also provided the traffic control plan for the entire project.
